Frequently asked questions
The questions guests ask most often before a stay in Danau Kota, answered plainly and without the padding that usually surrounds hotel policy.
Where a condition depends on the rate you book, we say so instead of guessing on your behalf, and anything statutory is worth confirming at the time of booking because such requirements do change. If your situation is unusual, the front desk can settle it in a single phone call.

Before you book
Room details, policies, and the neighbourhood, in the words we would use at the front desk.
- What are the check-in and check-out times?
- Check-in runs from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and check-out is until 12:00 PM. The front desk is open 24 hours, so a late arrival is not a problem.
- Which room types are available?
- Three categories: a Double Room with one double bed, a Family Room with two double beds for up to four guests, and a Twin Room with two twin beds and a bathroom in the room.
- What is included in every room?
- Air conditioning, a private bathroom with a hot shower, comfortable bedding, a flat-screen television, and free Wi-Fi.
- Do the rooms have windows?
- Layouts and window configurations vary by category, and more economical rooms may be windowless. The details for each room are shown on the booking page before you confirm.
- Are children welcome?
- Yes, children of all ages are welcome and there is no age restriction for check-in. The Family Room is usually the most comfortable choice for a group travelling together.
- Can I request a crib or an extra bed?
- Cribs and extra beds are not available, so plan your sleeping arrangements around the beds included in the room you select.
- Are pets allowed?
- Pets are not allowed at the property.
- Is a deposit required on arrival?
- A damage deposit of MYR 50 in cash is collected at check-in. It is refundable at check-out, subject to an inspection of the room.
- Does a tourism tax apply?
- A tourism tax of RM10 per room per night applies to foreign guests. Malaysian citizens and qualifying permanent residents are exempt. Government taxes can change, so confirm the current requirement when you book.
- What are the cancellation and prepayment conditions?
- They vary by accommodation type and by the rate you choose, and the exact conditions for your stay are shown on the booking page before you confirm. Call the front desk if anything is unclear.
- Is room service available?
- Yes, room service is available, alongside the 24-hour front desk.
- What languages does the team speak?
- English and Malay. The team is used to helping visitors who are new to Setapak find their way around the immediate area.
- Is there parking at the hotel?
- The property does not provide parking. E-hailing and road transport are the most practical ways to move around this part of the city.
- How do I get to central Kuala Lumpur?
- The Wangsa Maju station and rail connection is a short ride away, and from there onward travel follows the usual rail routes. E-hailing is the easier option in the evening or with luggage.
- What is nearby?
- Setapak Central and the surrounding shoplots cover everyday dining and errands, Setapak Lake City is a short walk, and the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre and Zoo Negara are both reachable as a trip out.
- How do I book a room?
- Book online through the hotel booking page, or call the front desk and the team will take you through the options.
